About UsReal is a Canadian kid’s magazine, committed to providing exceptionally well-written, beautifully illustrated children’s literature. The title – Real – stands for Read Everything And Learn, and that captures our philosophy in a nutshell. The key to effective education is literacy – and success in life depends on education. But beyond this lies the role of literature in opening our minds and hearts. Children who read widely and well are better able to appreciate the beauty of the world around them, and to ponder its complexities. Real The Canadian Kids’ Magazine is available in two age-based editions, an Elementary edition for children from kindergarten to grade three, and a Junior edition for children in grades four through eight. Both are full sized, full colour, thirty-two-page magazines with absolutely NO advertising. They have been designed specifically for Canadian kids and families, and aim to inspire a love of learning through reading that the whole family can share. Real is unique. It is the only Canadian children’s magazine available that follows a leveled approach to literacy and, through literature, exposes students to all other areas of the curriculum. In addition to individual and shared reading, both editions include puzzles, interesting facts, timelines and jokes, all of which provide additional opportunities for educational family fun. As parents, we all want to provide our children with educational opportunities. We try to help them read and improve their level of literacy wherever possible. At Real, we share these ideals. We are committed to producing the best educational kid's magazine, the best Canadian kid's magazine - in other words, the best magazine for children anywhere. REAL is available to Canadian schools as a ‘Learn and Earn’ fundraiser. Administrators are invited to visit the ‘schools’ section of our web site for information on how to register. Students and their parents are welcome to subscribe in the ‘family’ section of our web site. NOTE: A one year subscription contains five issues, distributed every other month during the school year. |
